Interior lights...??
So my wife took the Ruby to work to show it off and got back home at 2 PM and just closed the door without locking them in our driveway.
I get home at 5 and look inside the Rubi and see that the interior lights are on, so I go around the vehicle to see if there was a door open and all are shut , but I'm able to get inside without using the key.
I proceed to start it up and just make sure the battery isn't dead and it fires right up. Now I just get out and lock the doors with the remote key and the light goes out.....is this normal??...and since we are on the subject of "juice"...has anyone thought of having the power outlets shut off when the key is removed from the ignition, I hate to keep shutting off my radar detector manually as I'm used to just shutting the engine and removing the key in my TL everything shuts off.
Thanks...

I'm seriously considering buying the complete manual on the Wrangler...

Dunno about the lights, but if you pull off the panel below the outlets, you can isolate the power wires and might be able to wire the right switch to run off the same feed as the left.
I was able to hardwire my XM receiver to the outlet that shuts off with the key. I forced the outlet out of the panel and tapped into the power with a wire clip. Then I shoved all the wiring and power plug for the XM into the dash and put the panel back. Works great.

I have the same idea, now my wife wants a 6 cd changer so I'll see if I can order one before I go and take the dash appart, thanks HUMONGO....

If the door isn't shut all of the way the light will stay on. I've had mine do that a couple of times, when I didn't slam the door hard enough to catch the pin I guess. It looked shut, but hadn't triggered the switch. When I first got it, it even did that a few times when I was in it. Though the door was closed, cut the key on and the door indicator came on.

I may try to duplicate this , funny how all my life i've been trying to get my family not to slam the doors on my cars and now I'm just telling the the opposite.....

All the others seem fine with regular effort. But the driver's side will look closed, but show a door warning if I'm not "assertive" with my closing.:toung:
