Yes it was a simple install. They bolt right in. I put these in the sound bar and the components in the dash. Did install a sub but not this brand.

Infinity reference series are a good line of speakers. Had them in my Z71 for years and loved them. Also, they have a high sensitivity rating which is good for running them off the stock head unit. You won't be disappointed with them.

I can't speak for the Infinity Reference speakers you're looking at, but I installed Infinity Kappa 63.9i's in my sound bar. The only problem I ran into, is that the tweeters stick out a smidge too far, where when I went to install the stock grills, the grill pushed up against the tweeter. So what I ended up doing is just buying (4) 1/8" rubber spacers and put those on the back holes of the stock grills, and that added enough clearance so I could use the stock grills and not have the speaker touching the grill at all. You can't notice the spacers either.

I suppose you could pull the 63.9i's measurements from Infinity's website and compare them to the 6032si Reference series you're looking at, if you're concerned about mounting, but I feel you'll probably be fine. It doesn't look like the tweeters on those, stick out past the woofer like they did on the Kappa's I got. I think they also have a fit guide at the Infinity site, which tells you if they'll mount in a particular vehicle also.

For your fronts I would look at a "component" 6.5" speaker combo, instead of the 6032si's. The reason being, is that you really don't want a tweeter reproducing sound that is aimed at your knees, which is where the 6.5's mount in the front. That won't sound as good. You would rather have a separate woofer and tweeter, where the tweeters go in the tombstones on the dash. I personally used the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 component system....but these aren't cheap...but if you want the best, you usually have to pay for the best and these are some serious speakers....but might be overkill for your system, since you will definitely want an separate amp to drive them.

Which infinity component speakers would you recommend for the fronts if I do not plan to add an additional amp?

And if I am understanding you correctly, the tweeters that come with the components will go in the OEM tombstone pods on the dash? I am a speaker novice.

I am planning on upgrading my front speakers first as I need to pull the dash apart for another reason and don't want to do it multiple times =p

Infinity does make a Reference Series which is similar to the ones being discussed but are a component system instead. Those are the Reference 6030cs. Sensitivity rating on these are 93dB which is good.
Reference 6030cs - Infinity

I've always been a fan of the Kappa and Kappa Perfect series by Infinity. They also make a Kappa series component system the Kappa 60.9cs which have a 95dB sensitivity rating, which is even better.

Oh sorry I misread what you initially wrote Red. I thought you meant for component infinity kappa perfects you should run a separate amp. I reviewed the thread and realized you meant that as the original poster doesn't have any amp at all he should get one.

I ran my Kappa Perfect with the stock Infinity amp for about a month. It was an improvement but they didn't really come alive until I added new additional amps. I believe the Kappa "perfect" components have a much bigger magnet motor structure on them, so it most likely needs a good amp to move them properly. Where the Kappa and Reference series have a smaller magnet where you could probably get by without adding additional amplifiers. The sensitivity ratings seem to indicate this also.

Sensativity Ratings:
Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1=90dB
Infinity Kappa 60.9cs= 95dB
Infinity 6030cs Reference=93dB

So the higher the sensitivity rating number, the less power you need from the amp to produce more sound out of the speaker. So since the motor structure is much larger on the Kappa Perfects, this increases the overall weight of the speaker with an additional stronger magnetic field, which all therefore requires more power to move the cone of the speaker...thus, the lower sensitivity rating of the Kappa Perfects in comparison to the Kappas and Reference.

I just bought some of these for the doors and a pair of 4x6 for the rear pillars in my truck. Been a long time since I upgraded any car stereo. Must be 30 years now. Back in my early 20's I put a pair of 12 inch subs with 2 500 watt amps, some nice 6x9's in the rear deck and some 6 inch speakers in the doors. Had over 1500 watts and people could hear me coming from some distance. My hearing now suffers a wee bit for that. My only reason for upgrading is 3 out of 4 stock speakers are now kaput. Might have to upgrade the head unit if the speakers sound good. I bought these for 55 with free shipping.
