Infinity 7 speaker system
I know this is subjective, but here goes: In the past, I've always assumed that the upgraded speaker package was the way to go....but sometimes, the sub is really boomy. I'm looking for volume, but with punch, not boom.
How would you describe the INfinity 7 speaker package?

I'm actually pretty happy with the stock upgraded Infinity system. This is the first vehicle I have owned where I have not ripped into it right away and replaced it. Have always been an audiophile putting in Boston Acoustic component speakers and JL Audio subs in all my past cars. While this obviously is not up to that standard, it does a decent job. Hell, maybe I am just getting old and losing my hearing as well as getting tired of replacing systems but overall I have been pretty happy with it. My two cents...

I will admit... I am pretty happy with it as well.... I have always pulled the stock systems within the first month... I am a Sony/Boston Acoustic guy....But I have had the opportunity to drive my dad's 2 door 07 rubi for the last week (Friday is the day for mine...so they say) and the system is not to bad... and when you plug in an Ipod I feel it kicks it up a notch. I think i am going to give the stock system a shot until something comes along that I cant pass up. Plus having a stock system make me feel a little better leaving my Jeep alone for a few days....

For a stock stereo it ain't half bad. It doesn't suck nearly as bad as most stock systems and it's loud enough for riding with the top off. Then there is the little bonus that it has adjustable mids, unlike the usual treble/base only combo, so it's a bit easier to dial in to personal preference.
There is also the fact that I intend to run topless a lot and leaving it stock not only means that its less likely to get ripped off but it also means I'm not out a bunch of cash for high dollar gear if it takes a few big muddy splashes.
When I want to "get my audiophile on" I'll just listen to my Polks or my JBLs at home. (different room, different system. I'm spoiled)
In the Jeep I'm usually rockin' and all I really need for that is LOUD.

I agree, the 7-speaker system is adequate. I'm happy with the sound. I've never left a stereo alone since I was 16yo. I'll be swapping in a Pioneer Avic Z1 once it arrives, but only for the additional features such as BLUETOOTH!! If DC can't get it right, I'll have to do it myself.
