Ideas on jack space in the trunk....
I have two PDX alpine amplifiers sitting in my jack cubby. The installers raised it up so the jack is actually still in there then they built a board that rests on top of it holding up the two amplifiers. So the amps are on top of the jack in the cubby.... I am worried about water when I get rained in....Im concerned with well over 1500$ just seating in there what else I can do besides upgrading to marine amps to protect them... anyway to water proof it but still keep it breathable?
I dont have any pictures of the amp but thats the head unit the L7 kicker sub and the jeep Amps are below the sub

I thought about that! but the issue is the amount of wires and the fact that the seats move so much especially when someone climbs in the back seat...
The technician is one of the best car audio installers in the US and he said it would be to difficult for what its worth because the amps have so many wires running to them and yada yada thanks though!!! hmmmm

mount em to the speaker box with metal flashing estending from the box ofer the edges as a rain deflector.. but then your incorprating a sharp edge hazard that would need to be adressed
leave em where they are and attach weather stipping to the bottom of the storage area lid for waterproofing
just some ideas

build a waterproof cover to put over your amps. maybe elevate the amps off the board just a wee bit, to keep you amps from sitting in any water that gets past the cover. if they are sitting on the jack, you just need to worry about water falling on them from above. unless you think you will end up with that much water in your jackwell.

I believe there is a drain plug in the jack compartment I would need to double check that...
so I could leave that plug open and now I think the best option would to build a cover and weather strip. I need to find or borrow a camera so i can show everyone what im talking about and what ever I end up doing...
Hopefully this will help someone down the road because this is one of the safest ways of storing an amplifier..out of sight because the jeep becomes rather open when the top comes off and hopefully protected from the elements
