Default I want to add a 115 outlet to my center console.

Does anyone know if the stock harness for JK DC outlet to the console will support this 115 A/C outlet?

I highly suggest you add the correct wiring, which should be a fused circuit off the battery turned off and on via a relay controlled off the ignition.

115v A.C. from a 12v DC system- typically an inverter is how it happens. If there is an "easy" route that I'm missing then I'm certainly interested in it.

Ok to clarify,

Yes I know a power inverter needs to be added. I went to the local dealer and they could only find the outlet that mounts to the center console. Second, I asked if i needed a special harness for an inverter and was told by the parts counter, "I have no idea". Third I asked the service manager if the stock wire harness was universal and if I can attach a OEM power inverter to the OEM existing harness that feeds the D/C outlet in the console. I have come to the conclusion that Antwerpen Jeep in Catonsville, MD is useless and no help at all, that's why I'm reaching out to my resources here on the forum. All I need are the correct stock parts and I can install the rest my self.

To sum this up-
1. I bought the 115 outlet.
2. I need to find out if the stock harness will support an OEM power inverter.
3. I need to find a place to buy this inverter.
4. I'm new to MD and would love to find a junk yard that specializes in Jeep, like the one I used to buy from in Miami Fl.

Thanks to everyone who has responded and will respond, all info is great info.

The OEM 150 watt inverter is protected by a 25 amp fuse, (M5), and is fed by a 14 gauge wire.
The inverter feeds the outlet over two 20 gauge wires.

The circuit you use to power the inverter has to be able to carry the inverter load, plus the circuit's original load.

Can't you just look where the OEM inverter attaches and see if the connector and inverter mounting hardware are there? Be aware that some options on the Jeep may have connectors hanging free because that vehicle was built without that feature. However, just adding the hardware is insufficient to get it to work: The computer has something to do with the operation of that. I doubt that would be the case with the inverter, but who knows? Chrysler likes to make money off you modding your system--such as changing the OEM stereo head unit for a different one.

Quick Reply: I want to add a 115 outlet to my center console.
