You might try PMing Hypertech...direct is always a better approach to getting your questions answered.

I personally don't have either one yet, but from what I gather from their site, the E Con model will only do engine tuning and read and reset diagnostic codes. The other model will do those same things and also allow you to program the speedometer for larger tires, other gear sizes than stock installed, and lowering cooling fan on/off temperature readings.

I also get the impression that the E Con's engine tuning may not be as robust as the Max model. Robust may not be a good word, maybe tuning options, but from the two descriptions, I think I would prefer the Max for tunings.

Maybe someone out there has used both models and can give a better idea of the differences, especially in the tuning area. But my money's on the normal Max version for the ability to correct the speedo for tires and gears.
