hello jeepers. ok this morning (4:05 am ) i was thinking about doing something with a hurst shifter for a automatic transmision. i would like to install a t handle with a button on the left. the button would control the overdrive. im realy tired to alwase have to stretch and try to find the damn button and try to watch for trafic on the hyway. how can i i do that. im not realy good with whires but i think i can manage to do that. any inpute would be realy apreciated and i think that im not the first to think about that.

Here is what I did, you could adapt a new button anyware and skip the default overdrive off part. Hope this gives you ideas.

ok so i tried to understand but i am not realy good wit electrical blue print... is is possible to mount the overdrive button to the stock shifter in a way?

 

Electrically, it is certainly possible as it involves only two wires and a momentary switch. What you have to consider is how you will make the mod to insure the wiring won't fail due to shifter movement and how you want it to look when you are done (e.g. how you want to conceal the wires).

To me, mounting the OD switch on the shifter is still a reach, but if that is what you want, go for it.

You should put the od switch on the side of the steering wheel and, treat it like a nos button.

 

Honestly I can't remember exactly. Some I probably made, but the stock wiring methodology came from the service manual.
