How to I wire this subwoofer?
I got an old Pioneer 8" shallow mount laying around that I would like to toss in factory box with the measily factory amp just to see what I get from it. The Pioneer is a single voice coil 4ohm speaker. What do I do with the extra wires on the factory dual voice coil? Can I just put the two positive together and the two negative together and hook them up to the positive and negative of the Pioneer? Or can I only use one set of wires?

I think the internet has answered my question but maybe someone can comment with more knowledge than me. If I combined the two wires I would need a 2ohm single voice coil sub to try it properly or a 4ohm dual voice coil and keep all the wires seperate like they are wired from the factory. So to keep things simple the Pioneer sub I got I could only try using two of the four wires which would mean that I am only getting half of what the factory amp even puts out, pretty much meaning it is pointless to try. RIght? Confused?
