Horn+Buttons on Wheel Won't Work
Left my top down while I was at work (resort security), and the weather looked nice and the call volume was high, so I didn't rush to get the top back up before I went home. Flash storm rolled through, so it rained for about 15 mins inside the 2013 Wrangler Sport. Everything dried out alright, but the electronics were a little jacked up. The left turn signal module would make my turn signals go haywire ONLY if I turned the interior lighting up so high, the buttons on the steering wheel wouldn't illuminate or function (except cruise control), and the horn did not work. I dried everything out as best I could- used a blow drier, fan, sunlight, etc. Left Turn Signal is module is all good now. The issues I still have are 1. Horn does not work 2. Buttons on steering wheel do not illuminate or work (except cruise control, which functions but does not illuminate) 3. Stereo does not work.
I checked fuses, let it dry, etc. I had to take it to the dealer to get assessed. About $250 later they told me the first thing they'd do is replace the clockspring to see if that fixes the issue. If I remember correctly, they did tell me just my stereo head unit is messed up, so I should be able to get a replacement one and replace that myself which I've yet to do. I bought a clockspring off them and did that myself, but the issues were not resolved. I'm trying to refrain from bending over for the dealership. Could this have anything to do with the TIPM, and if so, how do I go about fixing that/solving this issue? Thanks very much in advance for any help. I'm trying some reputable, yet wallet-friendly mechanics, but it's tough since this is seemingly an electronic issue specific primarily to Jeeps, Dodge, Chrysler, etc... Everything is as dry as it will be; the water damage happened a couple weeks ago, and everything is as dry as a bone now.
