Default Hood mount CD antenna on JK?

I like the TJ hood channel CB antenna mounts. It looks like there is enough room to fit one near the back end of the hood. Has anyone installed one of these no the JK?

Here are some pics of what I am talking about:

I guess I may be the first to try this one.

I like my antennas to be on a spring in unobstructed areas. Most of the trails here in New England are tight with a lot of trees. I've broken a few antennas on trees when it was mounted behind the spare wheel on my old vehicle. I also don't really like the Cooltech license plate mount location either.

You really need a spring for that. Same with rear mount.

Exactly...I mentioned using a spring in my post. But even behind the tire with a spring the antenna doesn't have much room to move, so the top part can snap on the tire.

Sorry, just reread your post and you did. I just didn't see it in the pictures.

And yes, the antennae could snap off at the tire, but since its only about 12bucks a pop I'll take my chances. I made a frame mount but didn't like it since the top is too low for my liking. (using the short fiberglass ant. 4')
