Hiding my GPS power cable.
#11
My tomtom uses a USB plug for its power. I haven't wired it in yet, but I have a USB connector that wires into the 12v system. I plan to wire that under the dash and run the GPS cable to it. The USB connectors are considerably smaller than the cigarette lighter connectors. Just do an Amazon search for 12v USB connector. Tons available and are pretty cheap.

true. I got frustrated with the traffic. Steered me wrong too many times. The traffic cord actually went bad, blowing fuses. I replaced it with a non-traffic USB cable and never looked back. If I am ever in a situation when I want to have traffic info, I will use google maps on my phone which I think does a much better job than the tomtom traffic ever did.

I drilled a hole in the right side, down in the tray. The wire the goes down inside the console to the right of the radio and is tapped into the 12v accessory jack. To make it even cleaner I ordered a 90degree right angle micro usb charging cable so it comes straight down from what it is plugged into. Clean with no cables dangling around.
