Default Heresy! (or turn that #@$% thing down)

Subwoofers, wattage and my justified concern for your health. You're going to lose your hearing (and wish you had it) or worse. Don't flame me, I don't care, because I'm right.

I listen to my music loud all the time and work around aircraft regularly. My hearing is better now (somehow... trust me, I know that's hardly possible) that it was when I came in the military 13 years ago.

"The Beast – a Ford Bronco owned by Alma Gates. In 2000, it had 48,000 watts of power. It was
designed to pump out 175 dB. That is eight times louder than a 747. Instant death would result from
it’s sound if you were sitting inside of it a full power."

Instant Death? wow, a hell of a sub.

Good question. I believe they're making an assumption based on the perceived percussive force that such a system would emit... I'm imagining your eardrums rupturing and your brain being violently vibrated to pieces inside your skull. If I were on death row, I'd gladly choose to be bass-ed to death (as long as I could pick the song they used... wouldn't want to go out to some rap shite!).

I used to have a Toyota extended cab "Temple of Boom" That I had a Punch 150 And 2 MTX Terminator subs and various other components.
You couldn't see out the rearview mirror when I had it cranked up!
I could sit at a stop light with it cranked and the light would be blury...
Damn I miss that!
Any way I work around High speed router spindles and water jets all day.
And I allways here things before the wife and kids do.
The only one that can one up me is our German Shepard.

Heresy.

Now that's a track that sounds good with subwoofers & wattage. Big subwoofers and lots of wattage.

Agreed. I have had loud systems many times over the years and it definitely has affected my hearing....I can't hear as well and am asking for things to be repeated much more these days, as I get older.

That being said, I plan on putting another loud system in my JK and will keep pounding my ears until I'm deaf.
