I vote alpine. Jl makes nice subs.. Speakers Arnt the best. I loved alpines in my xterra

Actually the jl zr series is great. The speakers you are comparing here are a step above an entry level speaker. You will have better mid to high level response with the jl audio speakers. The alpine speakers will have a better bass response

Agree about the JL speakers...ZR tweeters are fantastic, as are the mids. Also agree about stepping up a level or 2 in the JL line of speakers.

Well I've already got a sub on my civic.... I'm just upgrading to get better sound than stock
