Default Help identify mystery part

I found this part of a wire harness while cleaning the interior of my 2008 Rubicon this weekend. It was laying on the carpet between the passenger seat and the door. I have no idea where it came from and the only markings I can find on it say "UA1.4".

Anyone have any ideas? Everything seems to be in working on the Jeep.

Gary

That is the dohicky that runs the whatchmacallit when attached to the thingahmaijigger! Just keep your radio on FM and you should be fine!

Sorry, my best guess.

I will look for ya though and see if I can spot anything.

Default mysterious

That looks like an actual switch housing that would be directly below some switch buttons but I dont know what it would be for. The cover buttons would depress the four plungers on the top and complete the curcuit within. Of course then again it might just be an actual dohicky idunno.

Now that you say that, could it be for the window switches for a 4 door?

Anything to do with the seats - like heated seating? I see it has a 'Christmas tree' clip on it, I'd look under all your seats and see if you can spot another one. Otherwise I'm not sure what to tell you.

I just tried pushing in on one of the green rubber things on the back and it just sank in. I used some needle nose plyers to pull it back out and it turns out to just be a filler until you put a wire in. It really looks like brand new wiring harness header, but I can't for the life of me figure out where it would have come from.

It has been to the dealership twice in the past twelve months, once to fix a fuel pressure sensor and then for an oil change. Maybe a tech dropped it getting in or out of the vehicle.

I'll just stick to FM until I can figure out the mystery.

I checked under the seat right away and the only connector under there is for the seat airbag and it is only a two wire connector.

I rechecked and this time looked under the drivers seat and there it was. It is the connector for the seat belt sensor, which for the passenger side (aka wife side) is not connected from the factory and therefore we don't care if they go flying out of the open top.

There are two small holes in the seat mount for the 'Christmas tree' clips to fit into. It must have gotten knocked loose.

Thank you all for the quick responses!

Haha, just noticed you already found the spot. This connector is used for more than just the seatbelt accessories... btw.

Default Had the same Connector

I had the same connector attached under the passenger seat in my 2008 Sahara.....It couldn't be heated seats, they weren't offered then. I'm sure it's the seat position switch if equipped with side AirBags to tell the bag when/If/or how hard to deploy and prob to also detect if a passenger is in seat during a crash!
