8000k is a tad too blue/purplish for me now that I see them in person.. Its not horrible at all. Im very happy with them. The light output is great but a liitle more white is what I would have preferred. I can buy a pair of bulbs from retro for 60 or 70 bucks so its not the end of world. If you prefer a brighter white color 5000-6000k would be perfect, plus you get a bit more light output with 5000-6000k then 8000k. The higher the kelvin rating the lower the actual output. My suggestions are based on 55w systems. In a 35w hid system 4300-5000k would be your brightest white. Ill add a pic of mine so you can see.

An HID upgrade is always going to be better than a simple bulb upgrade. But HID's cost many times more too.

The hellfires are amazing but they cost a couple hundred. For me they were well worth it.

Your post stated you wanted bang for buck. The answer is Truck-lits but only from Northridge 4x4. Reason is you get rigid lights with them and brackets and adapter harness's.

I saw that they were offering that kit. Trouble is I already have 4 IPFs where the rigids would go! Bustabiz's estimated sale price, which i believe includes harness adapters, is gonna be too hard to pass up I think! So its looking like truclklites for me. :-)

I'll make an offer for your Rigids if you get the kit.
