x3, an affordable big improvement for brighter whiter light. Ultra's in my headlights, silverstars in the fogs, match perfect.

First upgrade was to Silverstar Ultras. You can get them for around $35 online. I'm now running Recon H13 Diamond White bulbs and man oh man they are awesome! Visibility was better with the Ultras but these look so much cooler. I got mine online for about $30. Definitely worth it!

I too vote for hids. They are inexspensive and even if you buy the best hid kit on the market you would still save $300 from buying the trucklites. I dont believe the "not being designed" for our stock housings argument. While that might be true, ive seen many stock oem hid systems in reflector style housings. I properly aimed my lights and they light up the road, not the windshields of oncoming traffic. Ive had my hids on for only a week now but have driven alot at night and havent been flashed once. In four years with my old Ram with hids in reflector housing I was never flashed once. Again, proper aiming is essential.

Ok here's a question. How would the top of the line HID setup compare to the trucklites setup? Are we in tge same ballpark for brightness or are we still taljing apples and oranges here?

I did the IPF H4 conversion kit with the phillips extreme bulbs, MAJOR improvement over stock for $90 bucks.

I havent seen the trucklites in person but Id bet a set of 55w hids in 4300k-5000k are probably brighter than the leds. Maybe someone who has used both can chime in.

With hids. I've herd you need to have an extra harness to stop them from flickering. Is this true?

Thanks

10 minute install, much brighter and a non-yellow light. I considered the full replacement options, but figured I'd try the $35 option and I'm glad I did. They are worth the money and now I see no need to spend hundreds of dollars on headlights.

Yes, you need a relay harness with a capacitor. I bought my kit from Retro Solutions and the kit is completley plug and play. It includes everything you need. They wire the capacitor into the harness and send it to you that way. It was a painless install that took me about 35-40 min. No flicker or any issues. I bought a 55w H13 bi xenon kit with 8000k bulbs. Great light output but if I could go back I would have probably ordered the 6000k bulbs.

Why 6000k vs 8000k?
