Default Headlight Tint

Has anyone tinted their headlights? I'm looking for a smoke light tint to match my blacked-out JKU 2012. Some shops say no, others say no problem. The lights are odd looking (doom) and I would imagine hard to tint?

They have smoked covers too, but hard to tell how they look.

I believe this is illegal in most all states. Some do angry eyes. However, if you're intent on trying it... I suggest just getting a can of niteshade and try that. Though I don't recommend darkening the headlights... Too much of a safety issue. Just my opinion.

The lights already suck, if you tinted them you probably wouldn't b able to see shit unless you upgraded the lights or something. I tinted my 2006 f150s headlights with nightshade and they sucked, they looke great but you couldn't see good. After driving in a hard rain one night at 5mph when the speed limit was 45 and about wrecking at almost every curb, I sanded them down to remove the nightshade. I would not recommend doing it but it's your jeep

Default Another Opinion

I personally wouldn't suggest tinting the headlights either, but I did tint my turn signals and side markers, work out pretty well with the stuff I just picked up from Wal Mart. I actually just upgraded my headlights and installed new lenses, bulbs, and halos from Oracle Lighting, now it looks awesome, and the lights are bright as hell! Only cost me about $400 or so for everything.

If you have to go that route I would do covers. As said it will be hard to see anything at night, the stock lights are bad enough

I personally wouldn't do anything to further decrease the output from the stock headlights. They suck so bad. IMHO

Good luck.

This one I can't figure out...

Why anyone would want to reduce the amount of output they get from their headlights is beyond me.

Tinted covers, angel eyes, Night Shade spray on stuff.

I am all for cosmetic mods that make your rig unique, but reducing the already weak output from you headlights...? I don't get it.

I wanted to lay over a light smoke cover, I don't have stock lights, I got the high output headlights plus I have additional driving lights on my bumper light bar and windshield mounted lights lol. The stock headlights are useless lol.

You might want something easy to remove so you don't have any hassles when your inspection is due.
