Default Head Unit Power Cuts Out?

Twice now, all of the power to my head unit has gone out. Comes back after a while, but it is annoying and I'm out of warranty so I may just have to replace with an upgrade now. But I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem???

Nope, haven't had that problem. Maybe a loose connection at the back of the head unit? You might want to pop it out and take a look.

I have had this problem. It turned out that my fuse was loose and I couldn't get it to sit correctly until I jammed a little electrical pin down there to force the fuse leads to make contact with the metal inside the box. A quick way to check it out is to bang on the fuse box while the radio is on to see if it cuts off. And why is your jeep not covered my the warranty anymore? BTW, replacing the head unit with an upgrade won't help because the radio itself isn't bad, its the power that goes to the radio has a problem somewhere.

It is a fuse problem. I installed an avic -z2 and the problem started.
It was the fuse for the factory amp. It was loose and actually killed
the power to the radio completely . Make sure it has good contact.
