Gascap Light?

Gascap Light?
Ok so I have an '07 2 door X with about 35000 miles on it. I just left my house this afternoon and the gascap light came on, I didn't even know it had a gas cap light, I've driven almost 80 miles round trip with the gas cap completely off (and no it's on now and fully tightened). Anybody with the same problem or has had the problem please help.

Mine periodically comes on! I did relocate the evap canister and think I may have a line that is cracked 
It only happens once in awhile with mine though not sure what it is. Did you relocate your evap canister?

Mine came on for the first time a couple weeks ago--about 22K miles on it. I finagled with the gas cap, but it made no difference. After a couple days it went out. I have had a Woods Evap Cannister Relocation Kit for the past few months. Go figure.

IMO it is not the fact that we relocated our evap canister! I believe one of the hoses is cracked or not on snug and is triggering the alert. I just haven't crawled under the JEEP to check.
