Free 3rd Brake Light and Turn Signal Mod with PICS!
Hey guys. Been reading these forums and thought I would contribute something.
I modified my factory 3rd brake light to hide behind my spare tire/wheel for free. Well, free if you have some flat black paint and 1/4" bolts/washers/nuts lying around, otherwise it will cost you a few dollars.
Complete write up with more pics is on my Cardomain site.
Cut off the stock brake light support and use a piece of the base you cut off to fashion a bracket:
End result:
I also did the turn signal mod (makes front fenders lights flash with turn signal) and did it without adding any wire, therefore FREE! Simply cut the black wire to the front fender side marker lights and splice it into the outermost white/green (drivers side) or white/brown (passenger side) of the turn signal plug. Each plug will have two white/green or white/brown wires and a black wire, you want to splice into the one on the edge, NOT the one in the middle.
I recommend you cut, wrap, solder, and tape. Clips corrode and come lose. Do it right the first time.
Hope this helps some of ya'll.
