i drive at night with fogs on at all times. great lighting. was driving up
to sister lakes in michigan through woods so i was like, hey! lets

see anything. whats up with that?!

In a lot of states it is illegal to drive with the fog lights lit when the high beams are on (or the converse, Driving lights with the low beams on), so it comes that way from the factory. I don't know about Illinois, but in New Yuck it is not supposed to pass the yearly inspection if they are operable with the High's on, and if a cop wants to dig for a ticket on you, it is an easy one to get you on.

On the older Jeeps there was an easy jumper setting you could do to allow them to operate, not so on the JK's, it is controlled somewhere within the computer and isn't easily bypassed. It can be done, it just takes a lot more effort now.

I do not even know the last time I had the headlights on high beam.... The fog lights and the headlights, then when I get to the really dark spots, I use the KC lights. But am working on replacing all the bulbs in the headlights and the fog lights with the Xenons or Sylvania white lights

There is no mystery to it, just wire them to a seperate relay. Exactly like you would any other aftermarket light. You need the same old stuff that comes in the box with any light kit on the market: a switch, a relay, a fuse/holder, and some wire/terminations. Like i said, a lot more effort than adding a jumper, but pretty simple also.

Hook your vehicle up to a star scan and have it set to export mode. This will allow the fog lights to stay on while the high beams are on.

I tried to get this done at a dealership here in Canada and they said no because it would disable the day time running lights.
