Default i feel the need...the need for speed

not in the JK tho you're right about that. but i can go fast on the bike or in the Trans Am. but i can't go through 5 feet of mud or do Black Bear Pass in those either. they all have their purpose
almost forgot....WHAT TJ ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?!?!?!? mine was a dog, even with a K&N air filter, intake spacer, and a Borla exhaust w/the 5 speed. SLOW SLOW & SLOW

My X didn't come with fogs. I bought a set of OEM take-offs when I put my shrockworks mid-width on and I hooked a relay up to the low beam wire behind the grill (white w/blue stripe if I remember correctly). So fogs come on with low-beams and turn off with high beam.

I dont see why you couldn't add a relay that would be switched by running lights and run a new power wire to your fogs.

I'm surprised you can't get this done. In NY State, it is illegal to have your fog lights on with your high beams. They have to go off when you hit the high beam switch and can come back on when you go to low beam. The JK's here must be set up like that to be sold.

I am pretty sure all the domestic JK's are set up so that the fogs trip off with the hi-beams on. It isnt hard to override that using a new relay though, but i havent seen anyone do it by simply adding a jumper like the older jeeps to existing components.

If you have your fogs on and pull the high beam stick back toward you the fogs and highs go on but that's only holding it.

Exactly my thought. I could research the pins. Make sure the voltage is the same from both and could easily switch the pin locations. So the hold would be momentary and visa versa. The only issue is in the momentary position you will be shutting off the fogs.

Or just run real HID's and you will never need your highs!

I was up on a local unpaved mountain and running late at night. In my rush to get back to town I held the stick back so the fogs and brights would be on so I could see better on my high speed run. (Stupid I know) Anyway they only stayed on for about 10 minutes or so and then the high beams went off with me still holding the stick back. Don't know what happened unless they overheated or something. It was probably about 20 minutes later before the highs would even come back on. Thought I broke something at first but haven't had any problems since. Haven't tried holding them on again though. ???????

I had done this mod on my TJ a while back. Very simple...unplug the relay, bend #5 back, plug back in...done. Very nice for off roading. This was one of the 1st mods I wanted to do. I'm doing some searching now...I'll let ya'll if I find it.

Can you please tell me what the "locker Mod" is? I would like to also be able to turn on my fogs and high beams at the same time. if you have the time you can email me at westsidewags@cfl.rr.com
