Question FLASH FOR HARDTOP (REAR WIPER NOT WORKING) *Troubleshoot*

Hi everyone!
I bought an aftermarket jeep freedom top. Did the wiring myself.
As we know the instructions suck.
I went in to have my jeep Flashed.
The Defrost is working now however there is a problem with the wiper.
The guy at the dealer said that there is a ground somewhere.
On his paper this is what is written;

B230D REAR WIPER PARK SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT LOW (STUCK LOW)

POSSIBLE CAUSES
-W17 REAR WIPER PARK SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
-REAR WIPER MOTOR
-TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE

I believe Module G # 31 is the wire for the input.
Anyway i checked everything, nothing is shorted
(i do have continuty between ground and the wiper switch. but i dont think thats the problem)

STEP 16 in the instructions
shows that i have to splice a wire.
this is where im not sure
I cut the wire that it shows to cut.
from what i can tell its making me bypass the module.
was i supposed to make a splice to the pin so it connects in the module instead?
(the wire i believe is for the output)

Did he not flash it right. If he didnt is that a way to tell for sure.

Anyways ive been fooling around with this for days and i cannot find the problem
Is there anyone out there that can help me?

Oh ya by the way my dash shows NO ERROR CODES.

Thank you for your help,
Les

Bump so you can get help on this one. I told my dealer I would save the $150 installation fee and do it myself when my top comes in next week. Any tricks I should know?

Testing the motor requires the dealer scan tool.

Below is how to check the harness for a park-sense circuit short to ground.

From the factory service manual:

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the TIPM C7 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (W17) Rear Wiper Park Switch Sense Circuit. (terminal #31 in the connector)

Is the resistance above 10k ohms?

Yes
  • Replace the TIPM in accordance with the service information.
  • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST — VER 1.

No
  • Repair the (W7) Wiper Park Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground.

You checked the resistance at terminal 31 on the TIPM C7 connector?
That involves moving the TIPM and disconnecting the C7 connector underneath it.

That's the one.

So, if you got a reading above 10 ohms, (no short to ground), the TIPM is suspect.

If you are not sure about the splice in question, I don't know what to tell you.

So your saying TIPM might be defective? if it is the dealer repairs/replaces this at not cost?

Thanx for your help.
