Default ESP/BAS Traction control light

The ESP/BAS and I guess whats the traction control light keep coming on. It does not do it all the time and has been to the dealer a couple of different times for it. One time the dealer told me that it was my after market rims. Has any one had this problem. Thanks.

Mine did that about a year ago for no apparent reason. The dealership said it was the "clockspring". It's in the steering wheel under the airbag. Guess it senses steering wheel position.

The only mod i have made is New wheels and tires ..no lift yet
My tires are 12.5
When i go on a ramp or curve quickly the esp light is coming on and it applies brakes up front as i am braking

Im assuming at this point i need an alighnment i just put the tires on

Anybody have an update on this problem? Mine is doing the same thing, except it's completely stock. I haven't changed anything yet, not even wheel or tires. I have an '07 2 door...

Thanks!

Mine comes on sometimes... stays on for a day then goes back off. There is a thing inside called the clockspring and it could be broken. Sometimes it may have enough tension to keep contact with itself and sometimes it may be pulling appart. The jeep senses your steering wheel postion too. Gone are the days of people lifting the jeep and forgeting to recenter the wheel. Just my theory, take it for what it is worth... but I bet a new clockspring would fix this issue.

Mine does the same thing about once a month. It goes off like 10 minutes after it goes on. I haven't worried about it and it isn't sending any DTCs to the computer. Typical Chrysler product
