FWIW, my light was pathetic too, but when I took the old bulbs out, I noticed they were all black on the inside of the bulb, even thought they still worked. Just replacing them made a huge improvement (i.e. what they started out like) - I used IPF bulbs for the heck of it, and it's much better.
