Dome light open when doors are open?
Hey
so i noticed yesterday that when i open my doors the dome lights DONT come on. Are they supposed to?
They only come on when i click em.

Hmm
The doors are plugged in
that is the first thing i checked.
Things are dimmed but not all the way. When i go back out ill put it all the way up and see if it is any different. Essentially, the lights ONLY come on when i click em directly.

Mine works when it feels like it...I wish I could figure out whats going on with this stupid light...

Does the driver's door trigger the lights?
Passenger's door?
Tailgate?
None?
I had an issue where my driver's door wasnt being recognized. Dealer replaced the faulty fuse box.

Drivers door does not, i didnt check the rest i will go out and do it soon tho.

Also if you have keyless entry the dome light comes on along with the headlights. Another data point.
From the Owners manual...
The overhead light will come on when a door is opened.
It may also be turned on by rotating the control for the
dimmer switch on the multifunction lever fully upward.
The overhead light will automatically turn off in approximately
20 minutes if a door is left open or the dimmer
control is left in the dome light position. Turn the ignition
switch ON to restore the overhead light operation.
Cargo Lamp
The courtesy and dome lights will turn on when the front
doors are opened, when the dimmer control (rotating
wheel on the right side of the switch) is rotated to theupward detent position, or if equipped, when the UNLOCK
button is pressed on the Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) transmitter.
Also, the rear cargo lamp may be turned on by pressing
the lens. Press the lens a second time to turn the light off.
When a door is open and the interior lights are on,
rotating the dimmer control all the way down to the off
detent will cause all the interior lights to turn off. This is
also known as the Party mode because it allows the
doors to stay open for extended periods of time without
discharging the vehicle’s battery.
Your Jeep is stuck in Party Mode.
