IIRC ...
Its a software CD that you buy and load into the unit.
It's also a bit pricey. (I think $300'ish)
and there is also a old version vs new version
depending on what functions you want/need

It's not software, it's a hardware aftermarket unit that is plug-n-play which attaches to your mygig harness.

^^^^^^^X2 what he said ...Also read all posts about this because there seems to be an issue with them working right in the 12's 13's ...some say manuals and others say automatics! None the less they are responsible for the Nav freezing and so on................so before you buy it research it!

It should work. I have the same system in my 13 JKUR, and I can watch DVD's as long as I am in PARK... When I start driving, I get audio only.
I am in CA too, so I can only assume you should have the same on yours, if it was purchased new here and nothing is malfunctioning.
Are you still under warranty? If so, take it to the stealership, and they should fix it for free.

EDIT: Just saw it was purchased in Florida... Guess that's your problem, and a local dealership should be able to unlock it for you.

Thanks for all the feedback on the lockpick. I will look into it. On my pioneer nav in the Taco I just grounded a wire to fool the unit into thinking the Parking brake was on. Cheap and it worked great.

Did your GPS/NAV still function normally with the bypass? I ask because wouldn't the unit think you're stationary? Or does the GPS compass kick in & work normal?
