Default Do I need the factory antenna?

All I listen to is the satellite radio and the big ugly factory antenna, as far as I know, is only for AM/FM signals. If that is correct then I should be able to just remove it and not have to worry about it. If anyone knows any different let me know, thanks in advance

You're correct, but check out stubby antennas like Antenna-X or whatever

Thanks guys, i think I'll probably order a stubby from antenna x but until i do I'm just going to remove the other one. Tails and car washes are a nightmare with that thing. Appreciate the responses

Or just chop yours. I cut mine to 15", popped the ball off the top, glued it to the now shorter piece and Plasti-dipped it. I haven't noticed any reduction in signal when I have listened to FM.
