Dimmer to Head Unit possible?
Hey all - my new Kenwood HU is pretty bright... is there a way to run the illumination lead to a knob of sorts, and then run it to the HU to get it to act as a dimmer control? Thanks!!
... I should add, the Dimmer line is attached to the HU in the back... so the interior dimmer switch on the light arm doesnt really change a thing...

all the kenwood HU's ive come across have a built in dimmer in the menu system somewhere to allow for this setting to be altered
it should if set to factory settings auto dim when the headlights are put on too if i remember correctly?

If you have the Kenwood D3 it is really hard to find the dimmer function in it. I have it in my 07 Sahara. For the first few months I couldnt figure it out and would put a shirt on the dash... (I was pretty angry with it) While waiting in a parking lot for 4 hours I figured it out. It is hidden in the options. I wish I could give you a better description but I have not been in my Jeep since last October. I have yet to see a head unit that will not dim. Best thing is to look in the user manual or just poke around with it.
The only problem I had with the dimmer was I would dim it in the morning while driving to work and when the sun would come up I always had a hard time navigating the menu's to find a way to brighten it up so you could see it.
Good luck
