So far I have no problems with the housing melting. From what I read, 55w should be fine.

Just an FYI, I have 35w 6000k HID on my Subaru (non DDM). Visablity sucks when the road is really wet. 5000k is way to go.

I used the ddm kit and found when I needed the warranty, you have to send nearly the whole kit back... I ordered the parts I needed to replace off ebay, and found at least the ballasts and bulbs were exactly the same part with different stickers... I love the hids as I live in the mountains with lots of game on the roads. I do Have them still aimed very low though so not to blind the rare car I may see. Mine are 35w 4300k headlights and fogs. I found the g2 ballasts on ebay to be very good replacements, and really small compared to the ones in the kit. I had one bad ballast, and one bad bulb from ddm, and the pins in the harness had to be changed on two wires too. Not what I call good qc.

I have this

1 x DDM HID Kit, 55W, H13, High / Low, 6000K
Wattage: 55 Watt (+$10.00)
Bulb Color: 6000K
Bulb Type: H13/9008 Hi/Lo
DDM55W.H13HiLo.6000K

1 x DDM HID Kit, 35W, H10, 5000K
Bulb Color: 5000K
Bulb Type: H10/9145/9140
Wattage: 35 Watt
DDM35W.H10.5000K

They installed with no problems. I did not have to use a resistor or anything extra and it does not flicker on high.

55watt hi/low 6000k in headlights
35watt 5000k in fogs

I love them at first they were aligned to high and everyone flashed me (forgot to align after lift) I have them aligned now and it is perfect no one flashes.

Much much better than stock.

Will post night pics if anyone wants.

I will be installing these to my KC long range daylighters. ;-)

Prowler9, what year is your JK? Why are some applications having buzzing problems, maybe differences in electrical systems because of year...?
Just trying to learn before I purchase the DDM's myself.

The problem is usually in the relay and the actual voltage that the lights are getting from the factory wiring. Buy a relay with a lower voltage range and it seems to switch over without buzzing. Measure the voltage at the OE light harness, it should be lower than 12v depending on age of the vehicle and length of wiring, and go buy yourself a relay tht matches. I bought one about 4 yrs ago on Amzn that switched at 7v that made no noise and fixed my hid problems.

Do not listen to this guy.... I put a 55w kit from DDM in my STOCK lamps and the output is far superior to the stock lighting. I adjusted them so that oncoming traffic is not blinded. I never get bright lighted by someone thinking my high beams are on.
