Default Daniel stern, cibies + harness + bulbs

Hello

Daniel Stern got back to me...

Looking for insight regarding the cibies as far as what bulbs to go with...the harness appears to be a no brainer

How many folks are happily running this setup??

Buy extra bulbs. Seems like a lot of people who have gone high wattage complain that the bulbs burn out fast.

How high can I go with the bulb power output and still be legal?

Not sure. You would probably have to check your state's motor vehicle codes.

If you read Daniel Sterns page, you will see that the only legal option is factory housings with a factory similar H13 bulb inside. (i.e. even Silverstars are illegal)

Better option is to check actual laws, as stated above.

Well I checked my states DMV website (Maine) and it says in one place your headlights should be 4 candlepower and it says original equipment sealed beams not to exceed 32 candlepower...

So I'm not really sure what to make of it

If I go through the expense of cibies and the wiring harness and put in 55 watt bulbs will I notice any improvement??

My response was facetious, although this clearly did not come through.

I would skip this cibies all together, they are just overpriced lamps. And sold by a liar to top it off.

My first recommendation would be to put in some aftermarket HID lamps. Cheaper, more light, acceptable pattern.

You don't want to do that, install some aftermarket lamps to add to your light pattern and leave the headlamps stock. Most states allow 4 lamps to be lighted at the same time. Adding two more lamps will do more good than swapping to cibies. And at lesser cost.

That's impressive looking! Which cibie's did you get, seems like there are 2 options, one with city light and one without? What the hell is a city light?
