Cop4x4 iPad dock review?
Before I go ahead and pull the trigger, I was wondering if any of you have actually used one of these? How well does it hold the iPad in place? If I hit a bump, or accelerate briskly, it it going to fly out?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I was helping a friend of mine work on his JK and he just got one. He said after he received it he would NEVER by it again. It' has a pretty cheesy looking finish, and it's not worth the amount of cash he is askin' for it. Honestly once you see it in person you wouldn't pay 25 bucks for it.

I'm not sure how it looks cheesy. I bought one, it's covered in leather. It stays in it's place. The iPad is difficult to remove you have to take the mount off and push it out from the back, so it's in there pretty well. Under normal driving conditions it will not come loose.

So, I received mine and installed it. It looks like the person who built this thing was very liberal with the glue, as there is some residue on the outside. The leather also seems to want to peel up around the audio jack cutout. The cutout is pretty much useless as it doesn't line up with the audio jack. I'm going to call COP4x4 about this part.
To get around this, I took apart an ipad dock, removed the circuit board, and connected this to the ipad, this way I get both audio and charging out of it. This also has the added benefit of holding the ipad in the case better. (I can post pictures if you guys want to see this) I am on the fence as to if I'm going to make this permanent and replace the radio altogether (Install an amp in place of it.) as I do not see this mount lasting very long.
As to questions about viewing in direct sunlight, you will need to get an anti-glare screen cover. (I've got one on order from amazon) Basically though, if this was $100, it would be worth it. At this price, I expected more quality.
