Default Console Removal

Does anyone know how to remove the front console? I started painting things in the interior and wanted to paint some of the console area. I just am not sure how to remove it.

Also, if you want a visual for the storage console I remember reading on here that Tuffy has a pretty good write up on their site. Its for their security insert. Haven't done it myself so I can't vouch. Hope this helps. Half way down the page in yellow box check out mounting section & download PDF.

I've already done the mod you're speaking of and the absolute best resource is the Tuffy Storage Console instructions.

The real trick is not only do youhave to remove the cubby in back and the screws holding it, you have to loosen the front bolt that holds down the parking brake and remove the back one. This allows you the extra bit of clearance to get the console out. Without loosening the parking brake (at least on an auto) you're not getting that console out I don't think. I certainly wasn't going to be able to without breaking something. Once that step is done it's pretty easy. Just be careful not to scratch it up putting it back in.
