What's up fellas!

I am considering putting my db6501 components in the sound bar. Have any of you done it?
Shout out your thoughts/concerns/whatever!

Why not? Drill a hole and flush mount the tweeters pointing straight down. It would be the same as having coaxials but your tweeter wouldn't be in the way of the woofer.

I've been down this road. My $.02:

I have an '11 JK Rubi w/ Infinity System.

Upgraded the infinity amp to the 77Kick46.
Replaced all speakers with Polk.
Replaced the HU with Sony 5 Channel (52 per channel)
Installed Polk 600w amp to power sound bar and sub... leaving the 77kick46 to power the fronts.

Sound is freakin awesome. The ONLY way you will get any decent sound from the soundbar and the sub is to run them off a separate amp.

I just finished the sound bar component install last night!

JL 6.5" woofers screwed into stock woofer locations(the JL woofers are about 3/4" smaller diameter than stock woofers) The stock grills fit with these JL's.
JL 1" tweeters in external mounted baskets screwed into sound bar
JL crossovers wired to each set and double sided taped inside the sound bar
Roadkill sound deadening inside woofer areas
Speakers powered by a JL G6600 amp sitting in the rear storage trunk.

I finished the install and tried out the sound bar before installing the bar back in the Jeep. It sounded terrible. I then took a bottle of Tuff Stuff expandable foam and sprayed it into the center of the sound bar where the overhead light attaches. The sound started getting better. After about 10 mins I felt around the sound bar while the music was playing feeling for vibration. The very back part of the bar where the wiring runs through was vibrating really bad so I sprayed more foam into that area and what a difference that made! Now its all cured and sounds solid. I think the main problem with the sound bar is its completely hollow and the woofers sound waves fight each other. You can run the wiring out the passenger side wire hole and through the rollbar padding to your amp.

A speaker upgrade is a speaker upgrade.
If you have some laying around then put them.
If you are starting from scratch do it right....says the guy with 6900 in audio equipment.
