Default Complete stereo system rebuild.

I've seen many posts on the subject but not the specific answer I'm looking for. If I ditch the entire factory sound system and replace with new pioneer HU, speakers, amp, wiring, everything, do I need a c2r-chy4 module? My guess would be no. Can anyone verify, correct, or refute? Thanks everyone.

Btw, I will still be adding a steering wheel control module; I assume this plugs into the new HU in the rear "wired remote" port?

On a side note, I was planning on using 4 ways in the sound bar. Overkill? Useless? Any thoughts?

I've been trying to get the same answer. Some say you do need the PAC harness and others say no. I guess I'll have to ask an audio shop about it.

I replaced my HU with a pioneer, added an amp and subs, and removed stock sub. I did put in a module. But I'm still using my factory speakers..

Hope that helps!

Yeah. there's a shop up the road from me. Knowledgable but pricey; I'll try to pick their brains tomorrow. Will post results.

Come on out! I'd love to have you. Great wheeling here. And he will do work for me (and my buddies) at cost

You need a module, guaranteed. I've gutted and replaced my entire stock system. There are certain functions of the vehicle that are controlled by the can-bus in the factory stereo.... The module replaces those functions. It was about a $100 part at my shop. I don't know many other details than that, but was assured it was necessary.

Hope that helps.
