Compass messed up after new stereo install
Installed a new Pioneer AVIC X930BT this weekend. All went well except my stock compass is now screwed up. It's way off.
Is it because I unplugged it for the install? Or is it because the Pioneer has Bluetooth?

If the latter is the case, is there anything I can do about it? And if that is just how it is, can I relocate to directional sensor? And if not, then I might as well disconnect it, because I'd rather not see it than see the wrong direction.

I think it's kind of useless, anyway. It's not needed on the road, and offroad I always have a compass with me.

If the new system has a nav antenna or SAT antenna and you put that too close to the compass it will make it go crazy...
route it all the way up to the roll bar area... those antennas a have magnets to stick to metal stuff and hence F up your compass...

The compass will get messed up from the slightest thing..we had ours go wacky because we bought the Daystar panel and threw a cell phone on it...anything magnetic messes it up but it's a simple fix to recalibrate it, you can do it yourself.
