Changing electric fan threshold from ~230 to ~210 degrees
So I want my fan to come on sooner than 230 degrees. I like my Jeep to run around the 200 degree mark but sometimes it goes up to 230 and then the fan kicks on and drops back down to 200. I don't need a vented hood or lower thermostat, it is able to cool fine, I just want the fan to kick on at a lower water temp so when it does not jump to 230 by the time the fan kicks on. I tried the Banks programmer and it said it took the program and I was able to show the fan coming on at 210 but the fan still physically came on at the factory setting of 230.
My question is: can I replace the stock sensor/s with one that will turn the fan on earlier? either an after market or one out of another vehicle that has a lower "on" temp. This seems like it would be much cheaper, easier, and more reliable than a $360 programmer.
Where is the sensor, who can tell me which sensor will work or is this something that needs investigated?

Did your tuner not show programming available for low and high speed fan settings? The superchips has both levels available and they do work as advertised but I reverted to stock settings because my jeep tends to hover at 210 without the additional help.
Since superchips has it pretty well covered, you probably won't find many people searching any further.
Something you can try is an OEM mechanical fan retrofit. Ronjenx did it on his to keep the jeep cooler all of the time instead of just when the computer calls for it. The install is very clean and his directives are very thorough. That may be a better route for you.
