CB making all dash lights go on
I've got a Cobra 75 WX ST wired to my accessory fuse box. It has worked perfectly all year (I only use it wheeling a few times a year). This weekend I was wheeling and sometimes when I was transmitting it would make every light on the dash light up, like I was just turning on the ignition. I can't imagine this is good for the canbus system. As it's wired to a fuse box that is wired to the battery, anyone have any idea why his would happen? It didn't happen every time, but a number of times. And my CB transmissions were jarbled today too. Weird. Damn canbus system. Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. How did you fix it?
Is this the problem you were having?

I think is the RF interference. remove the coax from the jeep. Try rerouting the coax. I have the same cb but with a firefly fire stix 2 on my license plate. With the cb box behind the gear shifter ran down the driver side.

Yes that's the problem I'm having. I did not fix it. I only use my CB about three times a year. I'm worried it's going to fry something in the CANBUS. The old guys at the last Jamboree told me that it may be a grounding issue with the antenna (which I have mounted to the spare mounts) and that I should run a separate ground wire over to the hinge of the tailgate. So I need to try that.

Check your grounds for the radio(CB), may be the culprit. Just had a similar problem with mine, all the lights would come on the speedo went haywire, or it would ding and the cruise would drop out and the traction control light would come on. Arrived home and checked the ground for the cb and found the nut loose. Tightened it up and no problem so far.

I tightened up the ground so we will see if that helped any. There wasn't any play or loose wires but I was able to tighten it a tad so we will see.

There is NO grounding point on the tailgate. Even bare metal. You need to run a wire from bare metal (e.g. Bolt going into the gate where the antenna mount is on the tailgate) then similarly a sheet metal screw attaching an 16G wire, put one in the tailgate inside the black plastic strip which can be Ziptied to the tailgate cloth hinges and then another sheet metal screw with the wire and eyelet touching bare metal inside the tub under the carpet area in the back, like beside the sub woofer.
This way your entire tailgate is grounded.
