Can HID light swap cause check engine light?

Default Can HID light swap cause check engine light?
Swapped out my stock lights for some HID/ Xenon ones today and now my check engine light is on... Could this have caused it or do I have another issue? If so is there any way to clear it without going to the dealer and getting charged $$$?

If you had any connectors loose and the key was turned on that could have set the light. Autozone will normally read and clear codes for free.
