Just wondering if anyone has tried this. Can you put a stock head unit out of a Ram P/U in the jeep to solve the lower power to sound bar speakers.

No. The reason for the low power to the speakers is because jeeps that do not have a premium sound system do not have an amplifier so it runs on what power comes directly from the deck. You have to amplify those speakers with a 4 channel amp or get a new head unit.

I'm going to say yes, because the amperage has been reduced in the hu to the rear channels in the jk's. However I have no clue what tricks have been done to the stock truck hu's.

I know in jk if you go from front to rear there is a noticeable differents, but in the dodge ram there is not. I should be able to get my hands on a deck from a dodge this week just to try.

My 730 came off a Ram, I have a sport with the 130 and you could hear a slight difference. Like 2012JUS said, on a non premium system the power for the speakers comes from the deck and it's no amplified, in this case the 730 pumps more watts per channel than the 130 but the sound from the sound bar is still sucks...specially on a soft top
