Default In-cab power switch for winch

Ok..I'm about to pull the trigger on a Smittybilt XRC8.
When I wire it up, should I run it through an on/off power switch in the cab first (on a relay, of course) or just trust the winch controller?
How do people have their winches wired?

Mine's just wired the standard way to use with the remote control. No issues so far.

Great winch / and great price!

Its tuff to put in a switch or relay due to the current draw of the winch. You pretty much connect it direct to the battery posts. You can put in the cab switches to operate the winch instead of the remote. I did that and like that setup.

This is what i did for my winch controls but it's not very detailed. if you decide on something like this let me know and i can explain it in a little more detail.
