Question Best tweeters to install

I know this is going to be based solely on people opinions but I would like to hear what everyone thinks.

My problem is that after searching, most of the posts are just questions on how to install the tweeters. No one seems to actually state which model they use, just brands. I hear good things about Polk and Infinity's Kappa series, but not the actual model that they recommend.

I have the stock Infinity system as of now, but my tweeters are cracking a bit at mid volumes (19 and up). I figure I might as well change them up.

For the 7 days I've had the Jeep the sound is good, I just know it can be better!

Kicker KS650.2 Components. I like them. Install is not bad at all.

You can use either, but 1" is what you'd want.

You just need to do a little cutting right?

What is the average price range of a decent 1" tweeter?

You can buy tweets for $100 or excellent components for a bit more. crutchfield always has some good deals. My audio guy says most people can't tell the difference between $30 tweets or $100 since they are only supposed to get loud.

What order would you guys upgrade your audio system?

I'm not entirely sold that I need a new HU and Sub. I'm not a huge fan of how the new HU's seem all to fancy, especially in a Jeep. The sub i'm content with unless there is a better option that fits the stock box (don't really want to take up more space in my lacking 2DR trunk).

How much would a new HU improve the all around system? Would replacing the sound bar and front speakers including the tweets make a more significant impact?

HU does a lot. Everything actually. When I first started building my current set up the last thing I wanted to do was replace the head unit. But you're going to need to. I run polk db components in the front, Alpine type R's in the rear, 1 12" p3, and 1 10" type r. The problem is without a headunit your going to get dirty sound. Heres a pic of my setup.

If you wanted the basics go with a decent, yet simple head unit, mabe an amp and front components. When I replaced my rear speakers you could barely tell a difference, the fronts on the other hand is significant. If you wanted more low end just get 1 10" sub. The amount of difference this will make will astound you.

Hmm...

How necessary are external amps? Can I run everything fine with an aftermarket HU with no problems? As well, will a new HU make my current setup (stock) sound better?
