What size diode would be appropriate? Any idea?

PIAA makes a set of reverse lights that has a switch for on, off, and to only come on when in reverse. I have a set just haven't hooked them up yet.

It's my own version of the rock light mod. Since I use them with my dome lights also. I call it my "Rock Light / Courtesy Light Mod". So basically, anytime you open the door, the outside lights come on giving you light around your feet. It's the poor mans version of the "Puddle Lights" that you see in a lot of high end automobiles. I'm using the same lights as the OP. Just mount them under the door.

I am going to do the rock light mod. I also like the idea of mounting a pair under the doors, , a pair under the hood would be awesome!

I've had the back up lights for a while and couldn't imagine backing up without them now. I've got 20% tint and can't see crap at night so these help. It also makes a difference when I'm setting up camp in the dark. I've got mine on a switch only since I didn't want to mess with with splicing. Really easy mod but now I think I've got to look into those door lights haha... It never ends...

Oh, here's a pic. No problem on the trails so far except for a little water which was taken care of with a little silicone.
