Default aux power for lights

I have been searching the forum i have a set of piaa lights that i am mounting on my bumper right now. The switched power wire can i just put a tap and 20 amp fuse in the M8 spot and that will be my switched power. I dont have heated seats so if i give that circuit power will it cause any problems. I know i saw on here what to do before but cant find it thanks everyone.

You want the power comming strait from the battery to a relay. You can use your switch wire from a ignition switch source if you only want your lights running when the Jeep is on then run that to a relay, then the relay goes to the lights.

Yes, Use the M8 for your "switch power". But put a little smaller fuse in there. Say - 3 Amp maybe.

On the green wire could you run that to battery instead of to headlights ?

You could. But the idea behind using an accessory circuit is that the lights go off when you turn the key off.

I tapped into my running lights, that way they can come on if I have my running lights on. Same thing I think as the keyed power line, but could be left on with power switch off.

Thats fine as long as you protect the circuit from short circuit ( fuse ) and reverse spike ( diode ).

But if I wire them with green wire to battery the only difference would be lights wont go off when jeep is off right? It won't run down the battery or anything right (as long as switch is off)

You are correct. But the accessory circuit is the recomended method. Just a little added security.
