How the heck are you mounting it to the windshild and keeping it horizontal. The suction cup mount was not designed for a near vertical window.

I don't have a valentine, but my escort you can bend the suction cup mount to work for more vertical applications. You could always fab something or better yet, get something thats more hidden...and uses a remote head.

Default radar detedtor mount

I had the same problem but found a solution. On top of the dash over the instrument panel is a small square plastic plug. I pulled it off and cut a piece of wood that just fit the hole, then drilled a hole on one end of the wood that fits a bolt you can see once you pull that plastic plug out. Now you have a perch that you can mount your radar detector to. I took the cover off my detector & drilled a small in it & mounted the case to my piece of wood. I made two of them before I got it right but it looks good and won't come loose like those suction cups do. Also you won't be drilling any hole in your scratch resistant dash. Wiring is easy to hide there also.

I just use the visor clip. You have to tilt the visor down slightly, but it works well enough. I actually have been plugging it in the passenger side and using that visor. If you come up with a better fix, please let me know!

My father made me a bracket on his wire edm machine at work one night. He priced it out and the cutting time alone on the thing cost about $400 I do not suggest going to a machine shop. But If you have free access to one, by all means use it to the fullest.

I will snap some when it stops raining. Nothing to fancy. Looks like a normal bracket but cut from a block of aluminum with a wider area for bigger suction cups and it is the perfect angle for the windshield so it will sit level. It works awesome, no vibrations, no hearing the detector click from hitting the windshield or dash ( I like it low )

i spend my days in a CVPI... and although it takes a little longer to get there, it is quite easy to speed in my JK. it sneaks past 60 with no warning. slightest decline in the road and it gains speed quietly. i hardly noticed i was doing 70 with the windows down yesterday morning...

as for the radar detector, not familiar with the Valentine mounts, but i dont think it requires "window" visibility on all sides to be "acurate". sticking to the dash should be fine. laser is the only one that requires direct line-of-sight access to the windshield/window.

Again, having never seen the V-1 in use... not sure how it would affect the "accuracy".
