I tried one of those Universal black stubbies rubber from Auto zone. does not fit. The thread hole is much bigger on the Jeep. I really dislaike that whippy wimpy curly cue thing.

The car wash (if its not touchless) can break the ant mount as my wife found out . Although the part wasnt too expensive -20$ ? . The wire unplugs behind the glovebox.

I put on a 14" shorty black antenna. Go on ebay and search "shorty antenna jeep" and you will find an 8" and a 14" version.

Got mine online, hxxp://www.shortyantennasource.com. $12.99 shipped. Works great with both am/fm. 2 sizes 8" and 14", mine it the 8"

Antennas serve two purposes. The one most commonly overlooked is it is the clearance indicator for your jeep. Hence, trucks will never lose the traditional antenna.

Keep this in mind when altering. Hate to see you rap your windshield frame off some low hanging obstacles.
