Has anyone replaced the factory antenna?

I'd like to have a lower profile, black, rubber coated
antenna. Any downsides to doing this?

I am curious about this question as well.

I think a black rubberized stubby antenna would not only look better but it wouldn't whip around like mad at highway speeds.

Like Zero said, looks mostly. I don't like the silver
curley cue stock unit. I'm going for an understated
look. Hulk wheels, Plain ole black wheel cover.
Anti-bling if there is such a thing.

I have always gone on the notion that the more non-stock items the more bling. But why replace it if it works. To each ther own, it has a BMW style interface on the stereo side so you may have to buy 2 converters to go from standard to BMW to female BMW.

Has anyone gone through a car wash- if so- did they take off the antenna?
You can get the antenna anodized black- it has to be a little bit taller than the roof line to work 100%- but Stubbys work great.

I took my antenna off and drove around for a 15 min and still got all my stations and my sirius.

I don't like the stock antenna either. I tried to take it off, the dealer must have used lock-tite...It felt like I was going to break something if I twisted any harder. It has RH threads, correct?

Probably any dodge antenna will work, they had to have made a black one.
Maybe on a Nitro or that SV8 (?) thingamabob......
