Anyone got upgraded hdlights? HID??

I put some of these (differnt vendor) on my motorcycle. I like them except on start up my light dont always light up automaticly like they are suppose to unless I start the bike, turn it off and re start it (PITA). Not a big deal but for the money they want for them you would thhink they shhould fire up every time like they are suppose to. Yes I double checked my wireing and my connectors. Still same results. However when these are working they are HELLUVA Bright constantly getting flashed.

I found these HID conversion lights for Jeep and Hummer use on the 4WD site in the UAE (Dubai):

You need a capacitor and and a diode to stop the pulse from the electrical system of the jeep.

I added HIDs to my JK about 6 months ago. I replaced the headlights and foglights. They're friggin' awesome. Mine are 8000 series so they're amazingly bright. There is NO COMPARISON between Silverstars and HIDs. I had Silverstars before and they were way better than stock, but no comparison to HIDs. As far as the flickering goes, mine flickered like strobe lights right after they installed them, and then realized that a seperated relay is needed to fix that. It has something to do with the power "pulses" that the JKs alternator puts out. The relay was added and they've worked like a champ ever since. I highly recommend HIDs.

rather than getting the HID kit, i just bought HID bulbs. 8500K on the fogs and 9000K for the headlights. i bought them off ebay so i wanted to make sure they were as bright as the box said. i had them tested with a kelvin light meter and they held up to the test. ill post a picture soon.

HID bulbs will only work with a HID ballast. You still have a halogen bulb with a coating that resembles a HID color. The only downfall is you are still drawing 55Watts (on low beam) to 100 Watts (on high beam) of voltage from your electrical system. With HID kit you only draw 35watts regardless if you are on high or low beam.
Lumen's are what measures the brightness or intensity of the bulb. The Kelvin is just the color not the brightness output.
For example: A standard North American 100 watt incandescent light bulb emits approximately 1700 lumens, while a 100 watt sodium vapor lamp emits around 15,000 lumens, about 9 times as much.
