Not really an upgrade, but replaced the stock lights with Silverstars. I've used them on all my vehicles, as the whiter light does make it easier to see, especilly when on a dark road or trail. I replaced my headlights, fogs & Hella 500' with them and I do notice a difference when I have thm all on.

The good HID conversion kits are $$$ at about $1,000+ for the hardware. Delta makes a nice conversion kit but its too $$ IMO. Delta also makes some 7" and 9" auxiliary HID lights that are about $550 and $625 respectively that might be a better option than converting the stock halogen headlights to HIDs. Quadratec carries the Delta HIDs. I was planning to do a HID conversion until I found out how much they cost and how bright and reasonably priced aftermarket aux driving lights are. A good set of KC, PIAA or HELLA driving lights should be more than adequate for additional lighting. If you need more brightness off road you can always upgrade the auxiliary light stock bulbs to 75w or 100watts.

I was considering HID's, but I always get afraid the extra heat will melt the plastic?

I hate the stockers.

I also have upgraded to HIDs on the JK. I found them to be a huge upgrade for the money. I got my kit off eBay, just make sure if you buy a hi/low kit like I did to get the proper connector to the stock headlight wiring because most of the hi/low kits available out there are just rebased H4 kits. Secondly, try to get one with a long enough wire that runs to the battery, the JK's engine compartment is bigger than most car applications the kits are designed for.

I got 2 sets

1. Bi-xenon (this is a single bulb with a motor that physically moves the bulb location so you have hi and low beam)
2. and I replaced the Fogs as well..

I have done this on my 96 Mustang with projector beam headlights and the Hella
4" round driving lights with h3 55w bulb and converted both HID's with the color of 6000k. I will never drive anything with out HID now!

Best part about the JK is $130 for the bi-Xenon 9008 (with the plug) and $88 for the fog. (shipping included!)

KC and Delta are ripping you off if you buy their HID kits! I can buy any housing from any MFG and place the HID bulbs in them! Then I get their set for less than half their price and I get to choose my color as well!

Trynity

can you tell me who you bought it form on ebay? I bought a set and had to return it because the minute I turn the jeep on the lights would flicker like crazy.
thanks
