Default Anybody wire up aftermarket fog light to factory switch?

I have some Hella 500 fogs to put on an aftermarket bumper but I want to retain the factory switch on the tree. Does anyone know how to do this? Great detail would be appreciated, even better a diagram

Better man than me , I couldn't get it to work. I wound up going with the Daystar Switch panel.

The **** is nice but WAY too much money for 6 relays and 6 switches....

Use the + wire from the fogs factory harness to trigger the Hella Relay. This is your best option. The stock harness will trigger a fault if you try to power the Hella lights directly due to the Hellas draw to much current and the CanBus system will see it as a direct short and then throw a error code. Damn CanBus System has made simple wiring tricky now....

I ended up going with the daystar pod that installs in front of the shifter. I got the 6 speed and did not realize how little room that there really is. Luckly I installed my switches on the left side so the shifter boot will not turn them on.

I did, there are a TON of threads here on it.

This is how mine are wired in. This is for the KC wiring harness, but adjust the wire colors per your kit, the rest is pretty universal.

The green wire (G) from the relay, is what gets run to ta switch, the other side of the switch goes to some 12 volt source. I removed the switch, and plugged it into the factory foglight harness and use that as the switchable source.

I'm assuming that the power to the fog light socket is available only when the engine is on?

Only available on lowbeams. But i am pretty sure they will turn on with the key removed, but honestly, never gave it a thought.

That diagram rules. Thanks for the help. I didn't want to mess up my Jeep. I burn up the electronics at work
